Twitter?

Today, Holly gave me a gift.

It was a pouch that I can hang around my neck, and inside was a little electronical device that has a window and a very tiny keyboard on it. I asked her what this was.

She told me it was a pocket computer, and she noticed that people still follow my LiveJournal and such, but I have a bad habit of not updating it as much as I should. "You don't want your friends to think you've fallen off the world, have you?" she says. Why would I do that? I can't fall off of the world. It's round. And even so, I can fly. She said it was just a saying.

The pocket computer is always logged into a place called Twitter. Basically, I just type up how my day is going on this little pocket computer, hit "Send" and it'll update my status for all to read. Interesting. -shrugs- I guess I'll give it a try. Although I honestly don't think my life is all -that- interesting as of late. But who knows?

If you'd like to keep up with my Twitter updates, you can find them here:

https://twitter.com/claxthunderwing

They will also be posted on my LiveJournal, so I'm sure you don't need to watch me on both Twitter AND my journal.

Now I'm off to complete the rest of my dailies...

Altador Cup

Yes, it's been a long while again, hasn't it? Truth be told, Holly doesn't visit Subeta as often as she used to...And I kind of miss it a little. I do still travel back and forth between there and Neopia, but I've been hanging out more on Neopia then Subeta. I'm afraid to say, but Talin, Medaglia and Fahwna are slowly growing apart from Rora and I. They've finally met a couple of friends and they hang out with them often...they seem to be behaving - and growing up as well. It makes me wonder if there will be a time when they don't need their big brother anymore...

Rora spends most of her time in Neopia too. She adores finally being a Faerie Eyrie, but she's still having a hard time finding friends. I don't think she will ever find a mate. She won't talk about it, but I still believe she is still heartbroken over Godric.

We miss you, my brother. Wherever you are, I hope all is well with you.

Well, the main reason why I'm posting here again is that the Altador Cup has started again. The 4th year. When I heard that the cup was starting up, I had been in Subeta for a little while. Coming back to Neopia after a month and becoming a little more active there again was just like never leaving: We won junk Neopoints on the Wheel of "Excitement", won nothing in Tombola, scratchcards, Coltzan and the Fruit Wheel, been zapped a couple times, as well as been blasted by Snowie a few times too. Good to be home...heh.

Holly brought us all down to see what team we we were going to sign up for. Rora isn't all that interested in the Cup, since sports aren't her thing. Kyoko seemed somewhat interested, but only to hang out with the other Tyrannian team members, talk and hang out with them, rather than to play. Rumiy is more along the same boat as Rora...she really doesn't care much for sports, but she'll watch it if she has to, and has also agreed to cheer me on, on whatever team I choose to play with.

I already knew what team I was going to sign up with. Meridell, of course. X} Fiorina was there again. :} She recognized me right away, and gave me a hug and told me that she had missed me and thought of me all year while she and the Meridell team were off for practice. She is, unfortunately, still unavailable (still with her boyfriend), but she welcomed me to hang out with the team again and to go out and some milkshakes. They did, however, bring that up during one of our outtings...the team had suspected that I had a crush on Fiorina, and it was brought public to the rest of the team by both she and I, but since I know she has a mate already, I won't persue her any further beyond the friendship line. "Wizard" - the team's captain - had also asked me that if it weren't for the fact that Fiorina being on the team, would I even be siding with Meridell. I admitted that it was the main reason why I chose to play for Meridell last year, but I had so much fun with the rest of the team since then, that I'm glad to side with the team now. He joked about it, and said something along the line of "Well, we better keep Fiorina around for you!" -blush-

The lack of Eyries on the teams still both surprises but...not surprise me, both at the same time. There are so many Eyries out there with potenials...if only they could be recognized. As much as I like the Meridell Team, and "Wizard" is an Ok guy...for a Techo...I feel like Fiorina should be the captain of the team. Not because I have a mild crush on her or the fact that she's an Eyrie...but I've seen her play. She's quite possibly the best player of the team, and honestly I feel she doesn't get that much credit. I remember last year, she scored more goals on the team than anyone else.

Yesterday, Meridell lost to Shenkuu, which was unfortunate, but you can't win them all. Today we played against Darigan, and I'm not sure how we did this time. One of the things that utterly annoys me are those announcers before and after the game. The way they talk about Meridell, they make the team sound like...well, a loser team. -shakes head- Even when we win, they don't sound all that impressed with Meridell. I would laugh beak off we eneded up winning the Cup this year...or even made it to one of the top places.

In other Cup news, Brightvale isn't participating. Part of me is kind of glad, as I'm not too fond of Brightvale's king, the other part of me is starting to wonder...last year, Kiko Island wasn't there, and this year, it's Brightvale. When I looked at the teams, I'm starting to wonder if they did this on purpose, because it's an odd number of teams? Very curious. I do hope that Meridell won't be one of the teams to get axed in the future. And if they do, I hope it's the far future.

There's also another game I've been playing too: Shootout Showdown. Basically, you get five goals (it's just kicking a mock-up Yuooyuball past a Chia goalie) and you can win NeoCash items. Or so I thought. Apparently, you need to purchase tickets in the NeoCash shop in order to claim your NeoCash item. But the cheapest they have the tickets are 200 NeoCash, and we only have 125. It kind seems pointless in a way... I mean, come on, how can ANYONE win a Neocash prize if you can't even buy a NeoCash ticket when you don't have enough NeoCash on you? -sigh- Oh, Creators...and you wonder why I had left Neopia...I even had my eye on a Meridell jersey in the Cash shop, but we can't even afford that. I had asked Holly if we might get more NeoCash in the future, and she told me "Maybe. Maybe if I do an art commission in exchange for one...I'll have to to see, so I can't promise anything right now."

Anyways, time for bed for me. Gotta get up tomorrow for more Yuooyuball. We're up against Lost Desert tomorrow.

Eyrie Day and New Look

I haven't updated up in a long time, so I figured I would take the time to do so.

To be honest, not much has been going on.

Holly has been busy in another land known as Rescreatu and has left me in charge of the Eyrie Group in Neopia, as well as everyone else in Subeta. Thankfully, everyone is behaving and keeping out of trouble.

Eyrie Day is coming up again in Neopia, and once again, Holly will not be here to celebrate it with us, as it conflicts with her Thanksgiving celebrations in the Real World. -sigh- I wish I could, just once, spend Eyrie Day with her. But she told me she would enlist us with free courses from Ol' Three Legs before she leaves for her holiday. So...it shouldn't be a total loss, I suppose.

In the meantime, when I went to check up on everyone in Subeta, I noticed I looked different when I stepped into the land...

I went to find a mirror quickly so I could check out my new look.  I...I look more like a gryphon now! :}  I like this new look, and so did Holly when she came to check up on us as well.  Holly has told me that she has always loved the colour combination of purple and blue, and she thinks it looks good on me.  And I'm agreeing with that. :}

Apparently, we are no longer called Aeries now. We are called Irions. Strange. Apparently some of the native Aeries...er...Irions, have been calling each other this for a while now, so the Creators of Subeta made it official. That name will take some getting used to.

Still, I liked the look so much, that I went back to Neopia and brought Rora back, just to see what she would look like in her Dawn colours...

She likes her colours and how she looks like in Subeta, but she still prefers to stay in Neopia, now that she's a Faerie Eyrie. But she says she'll still visit Subeta from time to time.

So, that's it for updates and such. I hope everyone else is doing well.

Rora's In the Beauty Contest

My little sister is in this week's Beauty Contest. And she's up against a bunch of other pretty tough nominees. I doubt this is going to be easy.

But with your help, I think she will win Gold.  :}

So if you can, vote for her. A larger version of the drawing Holly made can be found on Rora's petpage.

http://www.neopets.com/beauty/details.phtml?pet=auroratry

Thaniks guys!

Altador Cup Over

Well, the Altador Cup is over.

Meridell scored 5th place, which is actually pretty respectable, and I'm happy for them! :} It just goes to show that when you're in a team who's there to play because they love the game, and not looking towards the goal of winning and they do their best with each and every game, that they really can go far. They may not have won one of the top 3 ranks, but they're #1 in my book. I think I'll join their team again for next year's Cup as well.

Once the winners had been announced and the greater part of the ceremonies were over, the Meridell team and I went out to celebrate another year passed with the Altador Cup.  They even treated me to a strawberry milkshake - my favourite!  We toasted to the winners of the Cup, as well as the runners-up, and to all the teams who participated, as well as to the Kiko Lake players who weren't able to make it into the cup this year, due to them being trapped in cave and they arrived too late.  They also toasted to me, which really touched me, for playing so well with them. :}

After our celebration, they came along with me to pick out some prizes from the points I earned from playing in the Cup.

In the typical Neopian fashion, why am I not surprised that the prizes really suck? Wow. Frisbees and slushies were pretty much the "big thing" of the prize list. I had enough points that I could afford a Darigan jersey, although I really would've liked to have had a Meridell jersey, but...eh, Darigan's better then Haunted Woods. So I got myself a Darigan Jersey, a Meridell Frisbee, and a Meridell Slushie. I also picked up two Roo Island frisbees that I might see about selling later, if they'll actually be worth something.

Once things started to die down a little, I had the chance to hang out with Fiorina for a little bit more. I asked her what she was planning on doing, now that the Cup is over. She said she'll be doing what the others will be doing...continuing to practice for next year's Cup, but only after she gets a month or two to rest and relax.

I told her that while she relaxes and enjoys her vacation from training, she's more than welcomed to hang out with us...or just me. Heh. But then she said something that made my heart strings break: "Would it be alright if my boyfriend came along? I haven't seen much of him since the whole Cup was going on, and I've love to have fun with you and your friends if he's able to come along!"

So...She's unavailable, I'm sorry to say. And...well, that's when she also found out that I held a little flame for her. She was very apologetic, and told me she should have mentioned her boyfriend sooner, to avoid getting my hopes up. It was a let-down...but we talked things through, and we have decided to be friends, which I'm still glad to be, as she's a very unique Eyrie.

So, besides from that, Holly told me that she was lucky to have won 10,000 from a scratch card. I thought that was neat, especially since we haven't been having much luck lately.

I've been thinking a lot about Meridell lately too. It's a nice land. And in a way, I kind of like it better than Faerieland, where we originally had our home before we offcially left Neopia. I talked to Holly about maybe getting a home plot in Meridell someday, and she said, "Well...there's kinda something I have to tell you..." But the way she said it, it sounded like she might have some bad news...Oh wonderful...

She then held out a paper to me.

It was a deed to a house plot in Meridell! 8}

"It's not final yet," she said, "but I just got it with the money I won from the scratchcard! You seemed to be really into Meridell lately, and since you played your best in the Cup, I thought I'd surprise you with this! ...And maybe something else too."

Then she pulled out something from her pocket...NeoCash! Good heavens!

She rounded all four of us Eyries and took us shopping at the NeoMall!  My goodness, I don't think I can remember the last time we were all treated like this!  It's...been so long since we were spoiled! X}

Rora got a lovely Faerie Dress and a new background. Kyoko got a Tyrannian hair bone to put on her head, as well as a Tyrannian hide to fit on her body. Rumiy got a new pair of fiery wings and a fire boa, along with a new background, and Holly...she spoiled me the most! She got me a complete set of Meridell Guard! Chainmail, helmet, shield...everything!

I asked her where she got so much NeoCash from, and she told me that she did an art commission for someone and they paid her by giving her NeoCash! I thought that was really cool of them. :} It's...so rare that we get spoiled like this. It really does make us feel welcomed here in Neopia...like we're someone again.

		From left to right: Rora, Me, Kyoko and Rumiy (click the image to see it full)

Well, that's our excitement for the night. I can't wait to see what our new home will be like in Meridell. Wow...we'll have to start getting furniture again...

An Announcement

I'm happy to announce that, as of June 14, 2008, my little sister Auroratry has become a Faerie Eyrie.

For REAL!

Holly has told us that she had heard back from her friend who was zapping her with the Lab Ray...she didn't get zapped too many times and I must admit, the odds of her getting zapped into the Faerie colour were very slim...I was almost waiting for the ray to change her into something else, or in the worst case, change her gender.

Luckily, none of that happened, and she's now a true Faerie Eyrie!

Congratulations little sister! We can't wait until the first of next month to see you come home!

Altador Cup

Wow. Apparently, this is the third year for the Altador Cup. Then again, I haven't been around for the last two, so I never heard of it before, but I figured I'd give it a look around and see what it's all about.

The colluseum in Altador is very impressive. I wasn't really sure HOW to play Yooyuball, since, well, I haven't been around. But after watching a practice game, Holly mentioned to us that it seems simular to the game of soccer in the Real World. She explained how it worked and such, and it seems easy enough.

To be part of the action, we had to pick teams. At first, I wanted to go with Darigan, but then something caught my eye.

Or should I say, someone?

There simply MUST be a Heaven, for I've never seen such a more beautiful and admirable Eyrie. Her name is Fiorina. She was standing around the lobby, chatting with some fans and such and before I even realized it, I was right in front of her. How'd I get there? Maybe my own paws spirited me away over to her.

She smiled and scritched under my beak (If I could purr, I would have at that moment!) and asked if I was joining the Cup and I told her I'd like to, but I don't know what team to choose. She told me she was on the Meridell Team and invited me to watch them play. So I went along, feeling like I was just floating on air without even flying and watched the Meridell Team practice.

Well...I must admit, they're not the BEST one out there. They're not BAD per se. They have a lot of spirit. It makes me think of a team who wants to play just because they want to play, rather than play-to-win. And I admire that kind of spirit from a team who actually made it to the Altador Cup. They give me the impression that even if they don't win any placings at the end, it doesn't really matter - they had fun playing, and it was an honour to even make it to the Cup in the first place. And, if they did manage to win some kind of placing, then it's an added bonus on the side.

They just seemed to like to play the game, and don't seem to be in it for the glory.

Plus, Fiorina is very pretty. :}

She came back over to me once they were done their practicing and asked me what I thought about their team. Before I really could say anything, she added in pretty much what I just typed out here. I guess my judge in character for this team was pretty accurate. Once she finished telling me about this, the rest of the team showed up and I got to meet them as well. They're all very friendly to talk with. But I figured that to keep it fair, I told them I would check out the other teams first, since I had just gotten to the collesium and I didn't want to just pick the first team that I came across. They smiled and nodded and told me that was a good idea and then they headed off to practice some more...but not till Fiorina scritched me under my chin again before she left.

:}

Being the Darigan-biased Eyrie that I am, I went to check out the Darigan team, which I came to learn was last year's winners. They play very well but...well, there was something that just wasn't there, if you get my meaning. That "something" was "there" with the Meridell team. It feels as if the Darigan team was there to play-to-win, no matter what. Even when one of the team mates messed up, they got a stern talking to from the leader.

In fact, many of the teams were like this. It seemed that many of them were under a lot of pressure to win Win WIN the Altador Cup.

I must admit though, when it came down to it, I was stuck trying to choose between two teams: Meridell and Roo Island. Roo Island also has an Eyrie on their team (and it's nice to see that there were more than one Eyries out there, for once), and they also play for the love of the game, and not for the love of winning.

But...well, I sheepishly admit, I sided with Meridell for...uh...one extra reason. ;} My goodness, I'm glad I have feathers to cover my blushing. The last time I was this infatuated by a female was with my love, Argent, of whom I do not know whatever happened to her...

The Meridell team seemed to be happy that I joined their team, and I told them I would try my best to make the effort to be the best I can be.  In return, they treated me to brunch, which I thought was really nice of them. :}

So, we're on Team Meridell for this Cup, I even have a background displaying the Meridell background proudly. Whatever our circumstances might be at the end, I'll be happy to have made friends.

Gain an Eyrie, Lose an Eyrie

Our family in Neopia has grown by one more, making us a complete full house now.  Well, that is, if we had a house. X}

Rumiy. She's a Fire Eyrie. I've always admired Fire Eyries, it's a nice look for us. Maybe not a look for me per se, but it looks good on her.

And...I'm the only male in the place now. X} It feels weird. Then again, Kyoko doesn't act very feminine, so perhaps she doesn't count so much. Good thing she can't read. X} Heh.

And...Rora is currently no longer with us. Temporarily, anyways.

Holly has a friend here in Neopia that has access to the Lab Ray, and the two of them were talking. Despite the Faerie Eyries not looking the way we had hoped they would, Rora still would still like to be one. However, the Faerie Paint Brush is still retired, and worth anywhere from 3-4 million neopoints. Since we're currently saving up for a Darigan Paint Brush for me (it's still going very slowly...), it would take FOREVER for us to raise that amount for a Faerie PB.

So Holly, and her friend Foxy, talked about possibly zapping Rora with the Lab Ray.

After they talked it over, Holly approached Rora about it.

True, there's a risk that she could be zapped into a colour she doesn't like, or zapped into a completely new species, or worst yet - zapped into a different gender.

She was scared and nervous (especially about the mention of that last option...) but Holly assured her that if she turned into something other than Eyrie, she or Foxy will have an Eyrie Morphing Potion handy. If her gender changes...well, we'll just have to wait it out. I don't know of an item that will spontaneously change one's gender at will.

It's a risk she will have to take. Who knows what the Ray will do. It might be generous and lucky and make her a Faerie Eyrie on the first zap, but I think that's highly unlikely. But it could happen. Or maybe it might take months? Who knows? Certainly not us.

After some thinking, Rora agreed to give it a try. It can't be more expensive then buying the brush.

We can only hope and pray that my little sister will come back as a Faerie Eyrie.

She's already been sent to Foxy, and awaiting to be accepted over there. Good luck Rora!!

Please send her some happy thoughts, guys.

A New Addition?

I was just getting out of Ol' Three Leg's academy this morning, finishing up a course, when I heard Rora calling from off in the distance...

"Clax! Clax! I want you to meet my new friend!"

She came fluttering down, all smiles and stuff, going on about how she just happened to come across another Eyrie and then...the smell hit me.

I sniffed a few times and asked if she knew where that smell came from...it smelled like dung or something. And that's when she introduced me to her little friend.

I looked around, and there, next to Rora, was a VERY short Tyrannian Eyrie! Covered in dried-up mud and..well, whatever other things that might be on...flies buzzing all around them.

I don't mean to sound rude but...I could feel my eyes widening and my beak dropping. It smiled and snorted at me.

I politely smiled back, then brought Rora off to the side, wanting to know where she picked up this...whatever it is.

"You're not going to believe this Clax!" she started out with, "I was just off, minding my own business, and...Oh, here's today's omelette, which is where I was when all of this happened, and a Grrarl started picking on me! He was making fun of my pretty crown, and such and when I told him to leave me alone, he started going on about how he was going to eat Floof! Then, out of the blue, Kyoko came to my rescue.."

"Kyoko, that's his name?"

"HIS name??" the Tyrannian Eyrie said in a really rough, gruffy voice, "I'm no guy, I'm GIRL!!" She then snorted and spit on the ground, looking annoyed. I think she was looking annoyed. It's hard to tell with those thick eyebrows...

I apologised to her and she just smiled.

"Anyways," Rora continued, "It was so neat! She beat up that Grrarl and flung him out of the Tyrannian ring! I went over to her and thanked her, and asked her if there was anything I could do to pay her back and...well..." Rora leaned close to me so that the other Eyrie couldn't hear us, "She lives in a cave...a CAVE, Clax! I told her that if it's Ok with you, she could...y'know...stay with us?"

"Stay with US?!" I think I startled both of them. And then I leaned closer to Rora again, "She's filthy and reeks of dung! Even the flies like buzzing around her!"

"I'll take her to beauty salon then!" Rora said, "If she doesn't smell like dung, will you let her stay?"

I signed and looked over at the Tyrannian Eyrie, who was using a claw to clean out whatever disgusting things were in the nosehole in her beak and flicked it away...

"I'll think about it," I told Rora. "Get her cleaned up and I'll make my decision then."

Rora was ecstatic and she bounced over back to the little Eyrie and told her that if she got cleaned up, I'll consider her staying. She shrugged and simply said "sure", and the two of them flew off, heading to Neopia Central.

Well. That was an experience in itself. I just shook my head in disbelief. Well, Ok sure, Rora is easy at making friends here in Neopia. I just didn't think she'd make friends with a Tyrannian Eyrie. I think that's probably the first one I'd ever seen.

So I went along, getting our daily stuff, when the two of them returned later on, the Tyrannian Eyrie looking VERY peeved off, but also very clean, well-groomed and smelling like pleasant roses.

"All cleaned up!" Rora said, "What do you think Clax?"

I looked down at the little thing, she looked miserable.

"How do you feel now that you're all cleaned up?"

"I no like it!" she said, "I feel weird with no mud on! I smell bad! It make me have sore head! Blech!!"

I blinked a couple times, then said, "If I told you you could go roll around in the mud to make yourself dirty again, would you?"

She smiled and said, "Ok! I be right back!!" And before I could tell her 'no, that's not what I meant', off she flew to the nearest mud puddle and rolled around in it, completely covering herself in mud and gravel and whatever else managed to stick to her, then she gave a shake and flew back over to us and flopped down, purring with contentment.

"I like you," she said, "You tell me I can get dirty again!"

I ran a paw over my face, massaging my forehead a little.

Rora approached me, "Ok, so she likes being dirty. I had a hard time with her at the beauty salon. She can't stand the perfume, and the stylists had a heck of a time brushing the tangled knots in her fur and mane. I don't think she'll ever go near that place again. Please Clax? Can she stay with us?"

I looked at Rora, my paw still massaging my head, and looked back at the little Tyrannian Eyrie. I had never seen such a small Eyrie before! With me being 5ft 3", and Rora being about 5ft 1", this little guy...er, girl...seems almost like a petpet to me. Which, by the way, she also had one too. I haven't gotten a good look at what kind of petpet she has, but it likes to hide in her thick mane. She didn't even sit properly. Her legs were extended outward rather than being neatly folded when we normally would be sitting on our haunches. She picked up a front paw, still very muddy, sniffed it, and then LICKED it and ran it through the top fur of her head.

I couldn't help but to shudder a little...

"What was her name again?" I asked Rora.

"Kyoko Papilio. But I just call her Kyoko for short."

I sighed a little, and then went over to her.

"So..uh...Kyoko?" She looked up at me and smiled. "Before you can stay with us, can you promise me two things?"

"What that?" she said.

"Well, you know how you hate smelling like perfume, right?" She nodded. Mud flung on me. "Well, we really don't like the smell of dung. If you stay with us, you can't play in dung, Ok?"

"What about I swim after? I no smell like dung after swim!"

I thought about it, "Well, as long as you don't smell dung afterwards, I'm Ok with that." She nodded. "The other thing is, if we get a NeoHome, you have to promise not make it dirty. If you do, you have to clean up after yourself."

"What NeoHome?" And she tilted her head in a way that, despite her covered in mud and dirt, actually made her look a little cute.

"A NeoHome is a place where we stay. Our owner, Holly, is looking into getting a NeoHome for us. It keeps your warm in the cold weather, and cool in the hot weather, and shelters you when it rains."
"Like cave??"

"Uh...yeah, like a cave. But with more rooms. Each of us will have a room of our own to decorate. You can do whatever you want in your room...if you want it dirty, you can do that too...but you have to make sure it only stays in your room. If you put dirt or mud in anywhere else in the house, you have to clean it up."

"Why you don't like dirt??"

"It's not that I don't like dirt...I'm going by the rules of the house. If you stay with us, then your owner is going to be our owner, Holly. And if she says we have to keep the house clean, then we have to keep it clean."

"What you do with dirt when cleaning?"

"Uh...I don't know..toss it outside? Suck it up with a vacuum?"

"You put dirt in my room?"

I blinked. "You mean, when we clean, you want us to put the dirt in your room?"

"Ya!"

"....Will you keep that dirt in your room?"

"Ya, you no worry. I like dirt."

It just seemed so weird of a concept to me "Ok, let's clean the house and throw all the dirt into Kyoko's room instead of putting it in the trash or sucking it up in the vacuum" or something.

"What if you get...bugs...in your room?"

"It Ok, I eat."

I felt my eyes grow large again, "You...eat the bugs?"

"Ya!  Bugs good."

I looked over at Rora and gave her an expression of "Are you SURE you want her to stay with us?" and the look she gave back to me was utterly horrified, as if to say "What have I done??" I looked back at Kyoto.

"WIll you make the bugs...don't leave your room?"

"Ya, I eat."

"Will you make sure we don't WATCH you eat those bugs?"

"You no like bugs?"

"Not to eat..." We both looked at Rora. She became speechless and just shook her head. Kyoko just shrugged, "Ok, I eat bugs in room and you no watch. Good?"

I nodded, "Good. Is there anything else you eat that we should know about?"

"Omelette good."

We both let a sigh of relief.

"So's worms n' grubs. They sometimes in dirt. I eat worms n' grubs."

Rora looked paler then normal.

"You no worry. I eat in room, you no see."

I looked over at Rora. All she could do was shrug and give a goofy smile. Well, she -did- beg me if Kyoko could stay with us. Heh.

I turned back to Kyoko, "Ok. As long as you don't smell like dung, keep the dirt in only your room when we get a NeoHome, and don't have us watch you eat, you can stay with us."

"I family now??"

"...er, yes, I supposed so. But just remember this: I'm Rora's older brother. When Holly isn't around, I'm the one that's in charge. When Holly is here, then she is in charge."

"Ok boss."

"...You don't have to call me 'boss'."

"You in charge?"

"Right now, I am, yes."

"Then you boss."

I threw my paws in the air, and gave a "whatever".

Kyoko smiled and then came and gave both Rora and I a hug, happy about being part of our little family. Rora tried to smile politely and then excused herself so she could go wash the mud out of her fur and feathers.

So...looks like we've got a new Eyrie in our family.

Our Luck Metre is Failing Again...

Neopia may be different in many ways, but in some ways, it still hasn't changed all that much.

Once again, our winning streak that we'd been having with many of the Wheels (Excitement, Knowledge, whatever) has come to a screeching hault, and we're back to getting the Question Mark prize from the Wheel of Excitement (ooo, wow, exciting!) or I just end up sick...how is -that- exciting?! Or we just get a "tip of the day" from the Wheel of Knowledge for games that we don't even play, or while waiting forever for the Wheel of Monotony, I often get attacked by a giant pterydactl, which leaves me with only enough health to get myself sorry carcass back to the Healing Springs...only to recieve a potion instead of a healing.

-sigh-

I'm starting to remember why I had left in the first place.

On a slightly happier note, Holly has gotten good at playing Pyramids. She's currently earned her Silver Trophy. With that, I don't understand it...she used to play it before and got nothing. And only a week after she'd returned to Neopia and started playing it again...BOOM! She suddenly gets trophies for it!

We've also, by chance, managed to get a codestone or two, as well as a dubloon. As much as I would've liked to have used those for training, we're in dire need of Neopoints even more, so we sold them off. I've been lucky to have gotten some stats raised from Coltzan's Shrine, as well as JellicleKit and his owner sent me some Bottled Faeries, which I used right away, and managed to get some special abilities. Speaking of faeries, we've also been on a couple Faerie quests too. But they barely did anything to help us all that much...like they healed and fed us when we were already healthy and well-fed at the time.

Aside from constantly getting sick on the Wheel of Excitement or getting myself chomped by a giant featherless bird (you know, it kinda -does- look like a featherless Lenny in a way...), I've also been spending a little bit of time in the Hidden Tower...just eyeing that Darigan Paint Brush...wondering if we'd ever be able to afford it. I told Holly that if we can't afford it, I'll gladly settle for Purple again. At least I can live with that. Not that I mind being blue...It's just that I'm so used to being purple, be it from the Purple Paint Brush or from being Darigan.

Rora's doing...well, alright, I guess. She, in the end, has agreed to continue to keep her image of what the ideal Faerie Eyrie should look like. Which is only making it worse, now that the Faerie Paint Brush can be used on Eyries, many other pets are telling her "But you're not a Faerie Eyrie! You're a Cloud Eyrie!" and they don't really understand Rora's logic of being a Faerie Eyrie at heart, even if she isn't one physically. But other pets are going on that if she's REALLY wanting to be one so badly, then save up and get the brush and get painted. She got cross with many of them and told them "Well then, are YOU going to BUY it for me?? Because neither I or my owner can afford it!" and the others just walked/flew away, laughing.

-sigh-

Once again, I had to confort my little sister. She threw her arms up in the air declared "Oh, I'll just be pink instead then!" But Holly then told her that the Pink Paint Brush is just as expensive as a Faerie Paint Brush, maybe a little less. We all know she doesn't really want to be pink (even though she does like the colour of it, it just wouldn't be -her-, you know?)

Holly hugged us both, and told us not to worry. She's trying the stock market.

Oh dear...the stock market?? Oh please don't tell me she said that!!

I flew over to check to see how Holly's stocks are doing...And just as I feared, we're losing money. I know she's just trying to help and to keep a positive outlook on things but...

How in the world do people make so much Neopoints that they can afford cool stuff?!? How in the world do they do it??

Holly, I love you and you're quite possibly the best friend I've ever had but...why the stock market??

-sigh-  Ah well...

At the sametime, I'd been kind of bugging Holly if we could get another Neohome, and she told me she'll look into it. We're not going to get a place in Faerieland this time...too expensive. I've been thinking maybe Meridell or maybe Brightvale...it's nice and green there and the air smells so sweet. Terror Mountain is out of the question, since Rora isn't too fond of the cold weather and strong winds. We'd been curious about Shenkuu...that's a new land that came around while we were in Subeta. And it's high up on a mountain, but not too cold up there either. Hmm.. I'll have to talk more about it with Holly.

In the meantime, to help us keep some company (and to help lift our spirits about our fortunes not being so fortunate), Holly got us some petpets. Rora got a Cirrus that she named Floof, and I got a Vaeolus which I named Firegryph. The little guy comes from Altador, yet another land that's new to us since our returning, and he does look like a gryphon of some kind. Cute little guy. I just hope I don't have bad luck with him like the many other petpets I've had in the past....

Holly has also been working on our petpages. Rora's page is up and working, but after making mine, she's been trying to update it so that others could view it, but for some odd reason, it just won't update. She thinks we'll just need to wait for it and then try again. Well, here's hoping. However I saw what Rora's petpage looks like now. She did a good job of it! I can't wait to see what mine would look like.

Rora's Decision

I haven't updated in a while, mostly because there really hasn't been much to update about. The same old-same old everyday. That would be boring to type about, and I can only imagine, boring to read as well.

However, something has happened that is worth mentioning. Or I should say, -had- happened.

Rora has moved back to Neopia.

She was tired of being lonely here in Subeta, and I'll agree with her on that ... it -is- very lonely here. And we still miss our friends in Neopia. However, she just couldn't take it any longer. She was just so depressed being so lonely.

The bunch of us approached Holly to see what we could do about this, seeing as the place where Fahwna, Medaglia, Talin and I is all boarded up, there's no way we could go back...not unless we want to start over again.

But, Holly has mentioned that she kept a place open. She told us that her plan was to give her cybunny, Latara_Cottontail, a new home (to her friend) and her plan was to close that place as well and leave Neopia far, far behind. She had just given Latara to her friend just shortly before we approached her with this.

We talked about it with her, and there was even a point where the three of us (Holly, Rora and I) just talked alone. We want to make sure this is what Rora really wants. And it is.

Holly has also talked with me in private, seeing as I'm Rora's older brother. Rora has grown so much since our move to Subeta...perhaps some of the friends we might still have in Neopia might not recognize her. If they do, maybe they would like the new her? Or maybe not? It's a chance Rora will have to take, and I feel in full confidence that she has grown so much, that I'm sure she could handle whatever comes her way, without her big brother looming closely in the background. She is, of course, a Thunderwing.

Holly had also mentioned that if I ever want to come back to Neopia, there's still space enough for me as well. I refused. However, I did mention that since there -is- that space, make a room for me and I will visit Neopia from time to time, just to check up on things, and I also told her that I will see Rora back to Neopia, to make sure she's comfortable and feeling at home.

So, Holly announced the news to everyone. It wasn't the greatest of news...but we had all agreed that it would probably make Rora happy. I think Fahwna took it the hardest, seeing as those two are best friends, and Fahwna definately doesn't want to move back to Neopia. But Holly has agreed to keep a space clear here, for whenever Rora would like to visit us again in Subeta.

We had a supper together, the 11 of us, and for our last night together, no one went to their rooms...we all slept in the livingroom, as if it were one big slumber party. I did my sock puppet show for them, and everyone seemed to really enjoy it, which I'm glad. :} Especially since Rora's decision has really been weighing down heavily on all of us.

The following morning, Holly made breakfast for us, and after that, Rora said her good-byes to everyone, and we were off. There wasn't a dry eye in the entire house. And as promised, I accompanied her and Holly.

We reached the gates of Neopia...the guards there remembered Rora. Since she never truly became a Faerie Eyrie, she turned back into a Cloud Eyrie, which is what she was to begin with. "It's weird," she said, "I've been so used to being a Dawn Aerie in Subeta, now I have to get used to being a Cloud Eyrie again." She crossed over into Neopia and waited for us on the other side of the gate. Holly followed her, but when it came time for me to cross over, the guards stopped me.

"We don't recognize you," they said. I told them that I had been here before, and lived in Neopia for quite some time, but I had moved out and into Subeta nearly 2 years ago. "Then you'll need to start over again - you can't be who you were before." I remember sighing deeply because I knew what this meant. I would not be a Darigan Eyrie. Everything that I had known or achieved before our move is gone. I would be re-entering Neopia with a clean slate. I nodded and I accepted this. And then they let me through.

Once again, I was a Blue Eyrie. The same colour that I was when I was born.

I actually shrunk in size, although, not by much. I'm just slightly taller than Holly now...I think I shrunk about 2 inches. But, that's the way it goes, it seems.

Neopia has changed so much since the last time I was here! I nearly didn't recognize it at first.

The first thing we did when we were all in Neopia, was that we went to check up on DragNeo...I haven't seen her in so long! But we were frightened with what we saw...

Her house had been boarded up, with a sign on it saying "The owner of these pets has been frozen." WHAT?! Liz!! When did this happen?!

I tried looking through the window, which was also boarded up, but there were spaces between the boards. Sure enough, my dear friend and her siblings were frozen. We sighed and hung our heads...I still can't believe it...

Rora then panicked and mentioned something about Godric and began flying over to his place. We followed after her, and to our relief, his house has not been boarded up. But no one was home at that time. It was a relief to all of us, really. I don't think I could handle the thought of my brother Godric being frozen as well...and then I had a very morbid thought of going to our own old house, just to see what it would look like...to see myself - my old self - frozen. But Holly advised against it.

A lot has changed here. While we looked around, we decided to play some games. I'm not surprised that the daily things are still what they are: barely giving any kind of prize...or any prize at all. Holly played a few games, which I found out that she was quite good at them. She mentioned she may -seem- good at them, but looking at the high scores from other players, she's really not all that great. Still, she managed to make some Neopoints and got us a room at the Neolodge. At least then, Rora doesn't have to worry about not having a place to stay (since they don't have a Neohome yet).

With all the new things here, I'm still not all that impressed. Again, I'm proud to be an Eyrie, and I still believe that we are one of the most noble creatures in all of Neopia. Still, I don't see Eyries as being honoured all that much. Even seeing the old Eyrie Day post from last October annoyed me. Especially Rora. She still considers the look of the Faerie Eyrie to be ugly, and she wishes that they could've made them look different, rather than looking like a green Eyrie with Faerie Wings. Holly had asked Rora "You've always been a Faerie Eyrie in your heart...now that it's possible to get changed into one...would you?" Without even thinking about it, Rora shook her head. "Not if they look like THAT!" she said.

With that, Holly brought us to the Rainbow Pool and we had a look at the colours that Eyries can be coloured these days. Holly asked Rora that if she could be coloured anything she wanted, what would she want to be. Rora took a look around (and promptly skipped over the Faerie Eyrie button), and after looking at each of them, she said "I dunno. Maybe I'll just stay as a Cloud Eyrie." Holly nodded and told her that if she ever changes her mind, on whatever colour she'd like to be, to let her know.

Holly then looked at me and asked me the same question. "You know what look I would want," I told her, but I knew it wasn't going to happen. I looked at the Darigan Eyrie, and noticed a change in the look...their tail tips are no longer pointy! They're regular tail tufts. I hung my head and sighed heavily. I had no idea I would miss being a Darigan Eyrie so much...to the point of maybe even regretting moving away. Both Holly and Rora comforted me. "Maybe I'll save up and get you a Purple Paint Brush," said Holly, "Remember when I was still new to Neopia and you helped me win one on the Wheel of Excitement?" I smiled, and I could feel tears welling up in my eyes, "Such fond memories," I muttered.

If only times could be like they were back then. When we actually enjoyed being in Neopia.

When I would bring good luck to Holly, and things always seemed to go our way.

She fluffed my mane and told me not to think about it too much - which can be hard.

Rora decided she wanted to fly off and further explore Neopia and what else had changed since the last time we were here, so I told her to go ahead, and off she flew.

I stayed with Holly a little longer and we took our time, just walking around.  We played some of the games we used to play and talked along the way.  Along our way, we played the Wheel of Knowledge and just by chance, we won a Green Job Card!  "Is that good?" I asked her.  So we ran to the Shop Wizard to see how much it would be worth.  Apparently, it couldn't be found in regular shops, so off we flew to the Trading Post, and sure enough, we found it there.  We actually managed to sell it for 130k!  Wow!  We were so happy, we jumped up and down together! :}

Just like old times.

I told Holly that I would stick around Neopia for a little while. While I've been heavily nostalgic about coming back and remembering the good times, I still don't think I'll be staying. However, in order for me to continue coming back to Neopia as a visitor, I have to promise that I must always have a spot next to Rora as one of Holly's pets. If, for some reason or another Holly chooses to change her mind and leave Neopia, then Rora must also choose if she wants to stay here or come back with us to Subeta. As long as I have a place here, I can come and visit. Which is good, because I want to keep in touch with my dear little sister. And Holly told me that she will always have a place for Rora in Subeta, so that whenever Rora wants to come for a visit, she can come withouth any worries of leaving Neopia.

So...yes, for the time-being, I'm in Neopia. Rora is around here somewhere, most likely searching around, seeing all what she could see. One of the things I would like to do whenever I'm here (or whenever Holly is visiting us or Rora) is try and earn our own Neopoints. While we are forever grateful for all of our friends who helped us out in the past by giving us Neopoints, Neggs, Paint Brushes, Petpets and anything else that helped us out along the way, I still couldn't help but to think we were also being free-loaders. Recieving gifts from time to time was nice, but again, I don't want to feel like a leach.

And so, if anyone still reads my journal, feel free to visit us or Neomail us sometime. Holly is now known as "hollyann_relah" in Neopia. I am now called "Clax_Thunderwing" in Neopia.

And Godric, if you're reading this, I'm sure Rora would love to see you again. ;} As would I. I haven't heard from you in such a long time.
And a word to everyone out there...I have also found a few other pets as well as an owner who claims to be either "my blood" or even myself...these are NOT us. Apparently there is an Eyrie just simply called "Clax", and again, that is not me...as well as an owner named "claxon_thunderwing" with an Eyrie called "Claxons_Blood". Neither of these are us. Please pay no attention to these. We believe we had some "fans" out there that might have been sad to have seen us leave and maybe that's what triggered them to create these names. Again, those are NOT US.

A Possible New Look?

Hey, it's been a while, hasn't it?

Truth is, nothing all that eventful has been going on with us, really.

Well, until Holly came over and told me that the Subetan Creators were thinking of a new look for us Aeries! As they do with all the pet re-vamps, they hold a poll, in which they show a picture of what we currently look like as a species, and a picture of what the re-vamp would be like.

All of us in our little family all agreed that the new look for Aerie was a lot better then how we look now. And it's about darned time they gave us some attention! It seems that it doesn't matter whether I'm in Neopia or her in Subeta, there always seems to be no love for us Aeries, or we're always left out of things and such. So, as you can see, this is a pleasant surprise. I'm happy to say that the newly re-vamped Aerie is in the lead, leaving the old look eating its dust.

And even more so, if they decide on keeping the new look...well, I'm still hoping to see if Galactic Aeries might be in the future.  One can hope.  My Birthday -is- coming up, after all. ;}

So...what's been going on with you guys? Any news? Things going on?

Uh...Happy Eyrie Day?

Holly has just informed me that she heard from Rose, who is still in Neopia along with Godric and the gang, that today is Eyrie Day.

Funny...I used to always be very proud of being an Eyrie when I was in Neopia. I suppose a part of me still is, although, now I am an Aerie. And I have constantly complained about how disappointed I was when the Creators of Neopia barely had anything for us for Eyrie Day. We have been here in Subeta for a year now, and, despite still the lack of friends here, we are, for once, content with what's going on. Our family has grown, we all seem to get along, and really, there hasn't been that much drama (none worth mentioning, anyways).

So what happens?

Holly has told us that Rose informed her, that for Eyrie Day in Neopia, the Faerie Eyrie was released.

I didn't know what to make of it. Rora has been wanting to be one for so long. But now that we are no longer in Neopia, and there is no turning back there, there's absolutely no hope for her to be one.

She was there when Holly told us all, and she tried her best to break it us as gently as possible, especially in front of Rora.

I must say, before I go on, Rora has done some growing-up. She has matured some...I don't think some of our old friends back in Neopia would even recognize her...and I don't mean that from the physical appearance sort of way.

She stood proud though, as any member of the Thunderwing clan, and I'm proud of her for that, and she took the verbal news well. Holly had also gotten a picture of what the Faerie Eyrie looks like, and that's when Rora spoke her mind.

"It's HIDEOUS!" she said, "It's GREEN!! I don't have anything against green Eyries, but...other than it having Faerie Wings, it looks NOTHING like a Faerie Eyrie SHOULD look like!" And with that, she ran to her room and cried for some time. Even while saying those things, she had heavy tears in her eyes.

Fahwna, being Rora's best friend for quite some time, went to tend to her, but she didn't want to see her...not yet, anyways. We were all worried for her. Then I stepped onto the room...and Rora did something that she very rarely has ever done. She ran over to me and hugged me. For the first time, in quite possibly a very long time, I felt like her older brother. And yet...I also felt helpless as she buried her face into my mane and bawled her eyes out.

"All that time," she started, "I thought I would be so pretty as a Faerie Eyrie...and that maybe even Godric would notice me...All that dreaming, just wasted now! All that time, when I could've been doing something else! Godric will never notice me now...now that we're not in Neopia anymore...and I DO look pretty as a Dawn Aerie...So why am I crying all about it NOW?"

I didn't know what to say, really. I held my dear little sister close and patted her shoulders comfortingly as best as I could. All this time, she mentioned Godric once or twice as a whisper. But this was the first time I heard her speak of him out loud. She truly misses him.

And yes, that is her conversation with me, word-for-word. You'll notice she doesn't speak with "Like" or "Y'know" or any of that other stuff anymore. I told you she's matured some.

She then went on that, while she does like Subeta, she's horribly lonely. We've been here a year, and we've yet to meet some Aerie friends...other than Squeeks, our resident Chibi Aerie, but he doesn't speak - just squeeks and chirps.

Holly came later, and told us that she will make a better effort at finding new friends here. She asked Rora if, in the future if she can arrange it, if possibly we could chat with our old Neopian friends using the instant messagers that she has. Rora was a mix of emotion. The thought of possibly speaking to Godric again for the first time in about a year made her heart fly. But she wasn't sure if he wanted to even talk to her. Or if he would even remember her. We assured her that he probably does. But we will have to see. It would be nice to speak to DragNeo as well. We miss all of our friends!

To help her feel better, Holly treated us out to the carnival here in Subeta. We ate so many Beavertails, that I think we had to roll home! X} We had a lot of fun, and Rora even won a balloon. She became sleepy early on, so we didn't stay at the carnival very long. Eventually, I carried her on my back till we got home, and helped Holly to tuck her in. I guess the emotions that ran through her took a lot out of her.

Godric, DragNeo, and anyone else with whom we have been good friends in Neopia before we moved...if you guys still read my journal (and I know I don't update it very often), would you guys like to chat sometime on AIM? It's been a very long time...and we miss you guys a lot.

Been a While

Well now, it's been a while since the last time I've updated. Things have been kept busy, just everyday stuff, nothing out of the ordinary, so I won't bore you with those details. Still can't be turned into a Galactic Aerie yet. Blah blah blah. Perhaps next month...

The one thing that -has- changed is that we have one last addition to the family. Her name is Starchart...she's a newly discovered species here in Subeta, called a Legeica. Holly first discovered her when she was roaming around Riverside Valley. She's a Lilac Legeica too. The other girls have taken a liking to her right away. Fahwna was all "Yay, another hoofed species!" and the girls went off and took Starchart with them, to show her around the place.

One of the reasons Holly was also attracted to Starchart was that she told me that Legeica bare a resemblance to Ki'Rin. I asked her what that was, and she said she wasn't too sure yet, since there was so many legends behind it, she didn't know which story was the true legend behind it. But she explained to me that basically they were unicorns (like a Uni, only without the wings), and they were from a place in her world called "Asia". She told me that maybe Forgotten_Mists might know, since she's Japanese (an island called Japan which is part of Asia). She also told me that depending on where you live in Asia, they're called different things, and may even have their own legend behind it. Interesting stuff.

In any case, Starchart is here to stay with us. We now have a total of 10 in our family, which is all that the Creators of Subeta will allow us to have in our house. Holly had told me that if it ever came down to wanting a 10th pet in the house, she wanted to wait and make sure that it was going to be something special. So hopefully now, our little family is complete.

The Darkness, The Lightness, and a New Colour

Well, we survived our first Subeta ordeal. For some time, the entire land of Subeta was emerged in darkness all the time, and no one knew why. Just as something would happen in Neopia, there were two sides in which you could choose to join to get to the bottom of it. The gang and I chose the magical side over the scientific side. I don't know why...there was just something that drew us over to the magical side of things.

A type of faerie is the guardian of the Coda Caves on the moon. I can't say I'm very fond of their attitudes towards us, since we're not from the moon...but nevertheless, I helped to dig in the Coda Caves. We found many gem stones. We weren't really sure what they were for, but we hoarded them, just in case it would help in solving the mystery of why it was so dark in Subeta.

To make a long story short, the scientific team was the one who found out why it was dark. Apparently, another planet's rotation came close around this time of the year (or something) and at a certain spot, it stood in front of the sun, blocking it from the land of Subeta, causing it to go dark for a few days. Not long after that, daylight came back to Subeta.

And that was it.

So we had a bunch of gem stones that we didn't really know what to do with. One of us mentioned to Holly to sell them off if they're not going to be of any use to us, but she said we'd hang on to it; other owners were saying that there must be something more to the plot than just that.

Sure enough, there was.

One of the gem stones, called a Dream Gems, started glowing and going all mystical and stuff. Soon later, we heard news from the faeries from the moon that the Dream Gems can be brought to a guy named Iltallo, but only on the 6th and 7th of the month. If you do this, and if the colour is available to that particular species, Iltallo will bless that pet and turn it into a Galactic colour. It's a very interesting colour. And I must mention this because of what I will say next.

During one of the digs where I found Dream Gem, I actually got some Dream Gem chips lodged in between my paw digits, and some of the bits even got into the sheaths where my retractable claws come out from. It...feels tingly.

Holly told me that Aeries can't be changed into a Galactic Aerie yet, so I'm safe for now. But it'll take some work getting the bits out of there. I managed to get the ones from between my digits, but it's in the sheaths that will cause a problem.

...Although, I -am- curious as to what I would look like as a Galactic Aerie once it is possible for us to be blessed. It'll be a month yet before I will soon see but...Well, I'm still wondering.

I mean...if I don't like the colour, I can always be changed back into a Lilac Aerie. It already happened once, when Holly had boughten a Potion of Purify or something, and she gave it to me because we didn't know what it would do. It turned me into a Scribble Aerie! Ugh!! How disgusting! I'm glad to be back as a Lilac Aerie.

But anyways. I'm just thinking out loud. Besides, even if Galactic Aeries have been released, I can't be changed into one unless it's the 6th or 7th of the month, and I can only be changed by Iltallo. And even if I get all of the shards out of the sheaths, we have plenty of Dream Gems that I can bring with me. In the meantime, my paws feel all tingly. It's quite odd-feeling.

MORE Additions??

Last night, I had a tough training at the Training Centre. I just wanted to come home and sleep for a week - or at least, feel like I wanted to have slept for a week.

Jarin came up to me as I tried to drag my carcass to my room and asked if it was Ok if a couple of his friends came over. I told him "What did the others think?" and he said "They said to wait till you got home and ask you." So I said "Fine...whatever...just keep quiet so I can sleep." I didn't really think much about it, I just hit the hay and slept a good, deep sleep.

The next morning (this morning), I heard a rucuss at the breakfast table. I went to investigate and everyone was involved in a food fight, and there were two other pets there that I had NO idea who they were. I went in and broke it up (not without having some food thrown at me first) and demanded what was going on. Jarin came up to me and said "But you said my friends could stay!"

Woah...wait a minute...what??

I told him "I thought they were coming over to play and then going home?"

"No," he said, "They have no home, so I wanted to see if they can stay here! And last night, you said 'fine', as long as we were quiet so you'd get some sleep!"

I have a splitting headache.

I explained to him that I was exhausted from my daily training and I thought he meant if they could just come over and play or whatever. His friends, by the way, are a Swampie and another Aerie. At the tone of my irritated voice, all three (Jarin and his two friends) started crying because they thought I would throw them all out! I just plopped back onto my haunches and rubbed my head with my paw.

"Ok, fine! You can all stay!" I finally said. Which made them happy, but it made Talin, Medaglia, Fahwna and Rora a little uneasy with the recent additions to our family. We do have the space for them, so that's not a problem. And Holly can afford to put them in the resort with us, that's not a problem. We just never had such a large family like this before, all in one place.

The Aerie came up to me and rubbed his head against my paw and squeeked and smiled at me. If that wasn't cute enough, he's a Chibi Aerie. Which makes him even cuter. I smiled a little and patted him on the head.

So, here's our new residents:

Squeeks the Chibi Aerie. He doesn't talk..he just squeeks. But he does understand us, and he's also developed a way to communicate to us by drawing things on a paper, although, it's like playing a game of sharades with him.

This is Champie the Swampie. I don't mention her colour because she's changing all the time. She wants to be something other than a cream Swampie, but she isn't sure yet as to what colour she wants to be. "Whatever looks good on me and whatever suits me" she says.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going back to my nest bed and stuffing cotton balls into my ears and pulling the covers over my head, so I can sleep off this headache. Er..well, I suppose a bath should be first, so I can get this food out of my fur and feathers.

A New Addition

Well, it seems that our family has just grown a little.

I'd like everyone to meet Jarin...

He was homeless and just happened to be in the neighbourhood.

Ok, actually, Fahwna found him.  He wanted to play ball and had no one to play with, so she played with him for a while, and that's when she realised he had no place to stay.  After telling me about this, I talked it over with Holly, and it turns out that we have some space, thanks to Holly purchasing more room in our little home.  She's not sure if he'll be able to stay once the subscription runs out...I guess we'll soon find out once the month is over.  But, until then, our family is now balanced out: 3 boys and 3 girls. :}

The Greatest Gift of All

Today was my 5th Birthday, and Holly has treated us to more treats then I think my stomach could ever hold! Those Beavertails I had mentioned earlier? To DIE for! Wow. I lost count of how much I had eaten, I wouldn't be surprised if it were 20. And I think I've got Strawberry Milkshakes coming out of my ears! I can see I'm going to be training a lot after this, but for now, I'm just relaxing.

There was something that was going on with the Trades today. Something about the Wizard accidently giving out super-rare items when he shouldn't have been. To re-call those items back, and to make sure that none have been sold on the Trades, the Subetan Creators closed all trades, which means that we also lost another Angelic Potion that we were hoping to get for Fahwna. When we learned this, she began to get a little depressed. And that made me feel bad.

With Holly's permission, I took our money and vultured the Trades. Anytime there was an Angelic Potion for trade, I would bid on it. I ended up in a bidding war with some other owner, but after hearing the highest bid was well over 8 million, I bowed out, since we didn't have that much.

Luckily, another one popped up on the Trades, shortly after that other one was sold. It mentioned in the description that 7 million would be considered "auto", which means that whomever lays down 7 million for it, automatically gets it. Well, 7 million was exactly how much I had, so I laid it down.

And then I held the potion in my paws. It was then that I realized just why, owners and pets alike, seek this potion. It was...well, I'm not sure how to describe it. Very hypnotising. I nearly got lost just staring at the sparkling colours that seemed to dance within the bottle.

I came to my senses and flew back to my family. I had Fahwna close her eyes "for a big surprise", and she did, and then I uncorked it, and had her drink it. "It tastes like vanilla and cotton candy!" she said. It was when she began feeling tingly and feeling the wings growing out on her back that she realized what was happening and she opened her eyes and watched the rest of her transformation.

Fahwna is finally an Angel Malticorn!  She has been wanting to be one since we've come to Subeta, and finally she is one. :}

She hugged me and galloped and pranced all over the place. Now, her and Rora can fly together and go on adventures again. I haven't seen her that happy in a long time.

And seeing her that happy was the best Birthday present I could ever get. :}

And, as promised, I had Holly take a picture of us, now that we are all in the forms in which we want to be as (or at least, for now), and so we had our picture taken, along with our petpets too...

Rora and I are in the back (she's the pink Aerie, and I'm the Lilac one). The front row, from left to right, is Talin, Medaglia, and Fahwna. Rora's pet's name is Flutter. Mine is Clix. Talin's is Druilica (after Holly's dragon appearance, because her dragon appearance is an Ice Dragon, which is what Talin's petpet is); Medaglia's is Firefly, and Fahwna's is Spectra.

As you can see, Medaglia has changed the most out of all of us. But she likes her new form, and we're glad she does.

I feel like my stomach is about to burst.  I think I will go to rest for an hour...and maybe have just -one- more beavertail and milkshake, and that'll be enough for me. :}

So Close...

We had it near our grip!

An Angelic Potion...the only one that was for sale anywhere in Subeta...we had the money for it and we bidded on it, and we waited all day yesterday, all night long, and a bit of this morning.

But it was rejected.

I suppose a better offer came along.

Poor Fahwna. Don't worry, we'll get you that potion. I'm sure that there will be more. There always is, and it certainly wasn't the first time we've seen an Angelic Potion in the trades.

Update

Well, it sure had been a while, hasn't it? Four months have gone by since my last entry.

Well, Fahwna is not a male anymore (thank goodness!), she's female again, but still isn't an Angelic Malticorn yet. But we've been working on that. When I'm not training, I help Holly out with the Wizard Quests. We've been making quite a bit since we've moved to Subeta, it absolutely astounds me to know that we've only been here for five months and we're close to six million sP already! Which is good, since the Angelic Potion has gone up in price to about 6 million anyways. We're hoping to raise a little more than that, so that when we're able to get the potion, we will still have a little bit for ourselves and to start saving up again for anything else we would like to get.

Things are going well. Rora was a little depressed around Valentine's Day as she couldn't send Godric a valentine card. I think she still misses him, and still thinks of him lots. It's been...quiet for the most part. We've yet to really meet new friends here, and besides from training and helping out with quests, I haven't really been in a socializing mood. The five of us have just been keeping to ourselves for now. Holly is looking for a guild for us to join, in hopes that we will meet new friends.

My Birthday is coming up this Sunday. It's hard to believe that I will be turning 5 years old. No, that doesn't mean I'm a child. We Eyries age differently. Er...I suppose I should really start getting used to calling myself an Aerie, since that is what I am now. I still think it'll take a while before getting used to it. Nevertheless, Holly has told us that she's going to treat us all to Strawberry milkshakes, and this other type of food that she grew up with. It's a deep-fried pastry called "beaver tails". She re-assured me that they are not made out of actual beaver's tails, but she told us that it was a food she grew up eating in her world, particularly at a winter carnival she used to go to every year. She says it's really good, especially the cinnamon and sugar coated ones. That ought to be interesting to try. X} And of course, cake! Can't have a Birthday without cake, huh? But I'm looking forward to my Birthday. A Birthday in a new place and surrounding.

For the fun of it, I few over to Neopia, just to see how things were going there. I was jealous to see so many cool things that Tonus got for their day, as well as Mincis too. And I was sad to see that we Eyries weren't included in many of the Chinese New Year celebrations...again, the Neopian creators stuck to their favourite species: Kougras, Aishas, Nimmos and Shoyrus. -sigh- Perhaps it's best we're not there anymore. I've forgotten just how much those things depressed me.

On happier news, I have a new petpet. And...it actually looks like me! I named him Clix.

Hi Clix! How's it going?

Clix says: "Peep peep!"

Heh, cute little guy. :}

Anyways, I need to go for now. I have to help Holly with the Wizard Quests again, and then I'm off to do some training. I hope all of my friends out there are doing well.

Good News and Bad News

The Good News:

We've finally broke the 1 million mark in the bank!  Wow!  I can't believe it!  I mean...we've been here for only about two weeks and we already have one million sP!  :}

The Bad News:

Uh...well...alan10, I don't think you want to hear this but...Fahwna is now male.

In a desparate attempt to get her painted Angelic (the Angelic Potion is worth about 4 million sPs), Fahwna has asked Holly to bring her to the Pet Zapper. For those who don't know what that is, it's exactly what it sounds like. It's just like the Lab Ray in Neopia, only...I don't think it affects your stats. It does, however, affect how you look...and can change your gender.

Poor Fahwna. She's in tears about it (and yes, I know that she's male now but...I can't just come to calling her a "him"). She's changed several species as well, in an attempt to be changed back into a girl, but to no avail. Holly had boughten Malticorn Elixirs to change her back into a Malticorn every time, but I think it might be a waste.

We've looked into getting a Sex Berry...it's a berry that can change her back into a female, and apparently the only item that can do that. Unfortunately, it's extremely expensive. It might even take all the money we've safed up already, just to get it.

The way we figured things out is this: Holly will continue to get Fahwna zapped by the pet zapper, regardless of what she turns into. At the moment, it's just cheaper to do this and hope that she will turn back into a girl, rather than buying the Sex Berry, and having to work another two weeks to get that money back up to what it is now. In the meantime, we will buy a Malticorn Elixir and keep it in our Safe, so that once she finally turns back into a girl, we'll turn her back into a Malticorn.

So...for the time-being, she's a lab pet.

We've been very supportive of her, it's been very traumatic for her (one of the pets she turned into was some winged creature in the Graveyard colour...she was just horrified when she turned into that...)  Poor Fahwna, :{

So, send your well-wishes to her. She can only get zapped by the Pet Zapper once every 4 hours, so that means she has to spend 4 hours like the way she is before she can be changed into something else. They cost Wizard Tokens to zap her, but that's not a problem...we get TONS of Wizard Tokens from the Wizard Quests...so it just means we will not be making money off of the tokens for a while, but we don't mind. Anything to help out Fahwna.
